CLASS: Honey Extraction Workshop
Join our head beekeeper, Carmen Atwater of Feral Farms, in this hands-on workshop on the process of honey harvesting from comb to bottle! You will get demonstrations on several different methods of honey extraction, how and why to filter, when to mindfully harvest while leaving the bees enough for winter, and more. Beekeepers will also get introduced to our honey extractor rental program, a community offering that gives people access to high-cost equipment when you need it without having to drop a huge chunk of change!
Classgoers will participate in the honey extraction process and be able to take home a jar of fresh honey they bottled themselves! This workshop is great for beekeepers who are preparing to harvest their own honey from the summer flow and for the general public who wants to see what goes into harvesting and bottling the honey that graces our shelves.
The Honey Extraction Workshop will take place on Saturday July 19th, 2025 from 3-5PM at our storefront at 23 Merrimon Avenue in Weaverville, NC.
