10 Frame Commercial Shallow 5¹¹⁄₁₆" Super
The commercial shallow super is one of the two sizes of super boxes in the Langstroth system, giving a colony more space to grow or store honey. Shallow supers weigh less when full, so are preferred by those looking to lift less. These shallow boxes are cut to hold 10 5½" frames, prepared in the USA from unpainted New Zealand pine. They have handholds carved into the timber on all four out-facing sides of the box.
All four sides of each hive box are rabbet and finger-jointed to give stability to the box as a whole. All of the finger joints are pre-drilled to make assembly easy.
Nails not included; use 7D nails to assemble hive boxes and supers. You will have to seal the exterior with your choice of acrylic latex exterior paint, non-toxic stain, or other bee-safe sealant.
We offer in-house assembly of hive boxes, supers, and frames according to your needs. You can purchase assembled woodware through each part listing or call us during business hours to discuss placing a build order.
