Foundation is the sheet of material that can be placed in an empty frame to encourage neat comb-building practices in honeybees, and reduce the amount of initial effort it takes for them to build comb. They can be made of wax or plastic, or the frame can be left empty for the bees to build comb naturally.

These are thin sheets of beeswax stamped with a hex-pattern in the size that bees build worker comb. Each sheet has several thin vertical metal wires running through the wax to help reinforce it. These wires are hooked on one side to allow the sheets to be secured into the frame via a wedge cleat.

Wax crimpwire foundation come in three sizes for the three commercial bee box sizes: Deep, Medium, and Shallow. Be sure you get the right size! It's good practice to refresh the wax in your hives every few years, as old frames and wax will begin to affect the taste of your honey.

This is the listing for single sheets of wax. For boxes of foundation, see the bulk listing.
